Flange Types And Uses

As a premier commodity flange supplier, MFC Flange has a reputation for high quality and precision. We specialize in stainless steel and exotic material grades, including high nickel alloy flanges and forgings. Our product range includes:

  • 300 Series Stainless Steel Flanges: Our stainless steel flanges are corrosion resistant and well-suited for applications where exposure to water, moisture, chemicals, and humidity are common.
  • Nickel alloy flanges: Because of their high temperature strength and shape memory, our nickel alloy flanges are uniquely suited to specific applications like defense, power generation, and more.
  • Chrome flanges: Coated with sleek, durable chromium, our chrome flanges are designed to resist corrosion even in extreme conditions.
  • Duplex FlangesOur duplex flanges are made from duplex stainless steel, a blend of austenite and ferrite. Their high strength and durability combined with their corrosion resistance make them great for marine, chemical, and oil & gas applications.
  • Corrosion Grade Flanges: In highly corrosive environments, our Hastelloy, Inconel, Monel & Super Duplex offers long term solutions for combating this such hydrochloric acid and high-pressure oxidizers.
  • 100% DFARS Compliant: Sourced and manufactured to meet Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement standards.
  • AIS & BABA Ready: Fully compliant with American Iron and Steel (AIS) and Build America, Buy America (BABA) requirements for federally funded infrastructure projects.

Our Flange Types

Our flanges are available in various metal grades and sizes to meet your needs, and we offer the following flange types:

  • Weld-neck flanges: Our weld-neck flanges provide excellent strength and resistance to deformation under pressure or extreme temperatures.
  • Blind flanges: Block off the end of a piping system with our solid blind flanges.
  • Slip-on flanges: Designed to be easy to align, our slip-on flanges are ideal for low-pressure applications.
  • Orifice flanges: Easily measure the flow rate of your pipeline with our orifice flanges.
  • Lap-joint flanges: Our lap-joint flanges are specifically engineered for pressure piping systems that require frequent dismantling.
  • Socket-weld flanges: The small, compact design of our socket-weld flanges are ideal for small pipes, offering a clean weld of pipe into the socket.
  • Threaded flanges: Our threaded flanges have internal threads for frequent assembly and disassembly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between forged and cast or plate flanges?

Plate (cast) flanges are manufactured using flat metal plates, whereas forged flanges are made through forging. Forging involves shaping the flanges under high temperature and pressure, which gives us more control over the structure, shape, and overall quality. Forged flanges are more durable, strong, and resistant to deformation.

How are your flanges tested?

All Flanges are inspected to ensure they meet or exceed all Industry and Customer Standards, Engineering Specifications and Requirements. This includes, but isn’t limited to, dimensional and visual inspection, and mechanical testing.

Can I order flanges in bulk?

Yes. All Flanges are made to order in accordance with Industry and Customer Specifications in any quantity necessary. MFC Flange supplies flanges in small and large quantities for a variety of customer bases.
